Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey & Natalya def. Alexa Bliss & Mickie James
On the September 10th episode of Raw, Ronda Rousey and Natalya faced off against Alexa Bliss and Mickie James in a tag team match. The match was a last-minute switcheroo, as Alexa’s original partner, Alicia Fox, was replaced less than an hour before the show began. Despite the unexpected change, Rousey and Natalya were able to come out on top, with Rousey submitting Mickie James with the Armbar.
The match was a highly competitive one, with both teams showcasing their skills and strategies. Team Alexa’s strategy revolved around keeping Rousey out of the ring, while Team Ronda’s strategy was to get Rousey into the ring with Alexa, whom she had defeated at SummerSlam. Thanks to some tag team chemistry and grit from Natalya, they were able to get Alexa in the ring with Rousey. However, it was clear that Alexa proved to be a greater threat to Rousey than anticipated.
Playing off Rousey’s aggression, Alexa lured the champion outside the ring and went to work on her already-tenderized ribs, throwing Rousey torso-first into the barricade and apron. Despite the pain, Rousey was able to submit Mickie with the Armbar, but it was clear that she had to fight through a lot of pain to do it.
Alexa then landed one more cheap shot that brought the champion to her knees, indicating that she is banking on a less-than-100 percent Rousey for their upcoming match at WWE Hell in a Cell where Rousey will be defending her Raw Women’s Title. Source
